The Gaskin Museum of Marine Life is located at the front on the research station and offers a good overview of the Bay of Fundy ecosystem and the animals that inhabit it. You can see actual skeletons of porpoises, whales and seals, examine the baleen from different whales, see how tall you are compared to a humpback whale flipper, and
learn to identify the various seabirds in the Bay. We also have a display on the island’s unique geological features, and a mock seashore containing examples of many of the invertebrates you might find on an island beach, or out in the ocean. Browse our gift shop for local crafts, station and island mementos, and guide books for the Bay – all sales directly support the station and our research.
We are open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., from early June to early October. Groups interested in personal tours and lectures outside of normal hours should contact us.
